The RoNaQCI Festival, held 18-20 June 2025 at POLITEHNICA Bucharest, delivered on its promise to showcase Romania’s growing quantum ecosystem. Over three days we welcomed senior Romanian and EU officials, industry leaders from IBM, Fsas Technologies - a Fujitsu Company, Dendrio, IDQuantique and Equal1, PETRUS, and researchers from three national QCIs.

Being the successor of QKD Days Madrid in 2022 and QCI Days Vienna 2024, this event promises a unique opportunity to discuss the newest trends in quantum-secure communication.

The sixth workshop of RoNAQCI was held in the city of Cluj-Napoca, in February 10-11, 2025.

The highlight of the week will be the Open Forum on Thursday, 5th December, where all professionals, people from DEP projects as part of EuroQCI, students, and quantum enthusiasts are invited to participate in a full day of engaging talks, poster sessions, and networking opportunities focused on the future of quantum-secured communications.

Octavian Rusu and Valeriu Vraciu attended the 25th Aniversary Conference of RENAM organized at Moldova State University on 8th of October. They presented 'Romanian NREN – support for Romanian research facilities' in which RoNaQCI was the highlight. At this event GEANT members were also presented.

Mihai Carabas from UPB and Valeriu Vraciu from RoEduNet attended NREN QKD Networks event on 25th of September 2024 organized by Geant. They presented RoNaQCI achievements in terms of network architecture but also training and use-cases current status.

The fourth workshop of RoNAQCI was held in the city of Constanța, in September 16-18, 2024.

The HellasQCI project announces the 3rd Training Event 'Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) for Cyber Security' which will be held on September 4-5, 2024 in Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

This invite-only event is an exclusive opportunity to hear from experts across the quantum communication community, representing industry and academia, during a 3 day conference in Dublin, taking place 1st-3rd July 2024.

On June, 20-21 2024, the third workshop of RoNaQCI was organized in Iasi by the Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" of Iași and University „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” of Iași. Several software milestones of RoNaQCI were announced, including QKD Key Getter Tool, QKD Unconditionally Secure File Transfer and QKD Video-Conference over Post-Quantum VPN. The published Quantum Computing Handbook was presented and distributed among the participants. Among the participants were Ilias Papastamatiou, PhD from HellasQCI, Piotr Rydlichowski from #PIONIERQ, and prof. Sándor Imre and Balázs Visky from QCIHungary.

This event is dedicated to the World Quantum Day (14 April) and it is organised in a hybrid format in Bucharest-Magurele (Romania), by the National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH), in the period 15-18 April 2024.

The second workshop of RoNaQCI was held in Timisoara, on October, 12-13 2023 and was jointly organized by the West University of Timișoara and Politehnica University of Timișoara. The meeting contained a presentation of the results obtained so far, which included the establishment of 16 Quantum HUBS and one National Quantum HUB, creation of the quantum training handbook and implementation of the certification platform. With this ocasion the first certificate in Romania in the field of Quantum Computing was awarded to professor Aurelian Isar, from the National Research and Development Institute for Nuclear Physics and Engineering "Horia Hulubei".

The “Securing the Seas: Exploring the Dynamics of Cybersecurity in Maritime Environments” conference is a leading international gathering of experts, scholars, and practitioners focused on the critical intersection of cybersecurity and the maritime industry.

Mihai Carabas from UPB and Valeriu Vraciu from RoEduNet attended GN5.1 Quantum Day event on 14th of April 2023 organized by Geant. They presented the current RoNaQCI metropolitan and national architecture which resulted from WP2 and WP3.

The kick-off meeting and first workshop of the Romanian National Quantum Communication Infrastructure project (RoNaQCI) was organized by the University POLITEHNICA Bucharest on March, 28-29 2023 at Bucharest. During the meeting, the representatives of the 30 partners involved in the development of the project presented the results obtained so far in the field of quantum computing and communications and laid the foundations for the implementation of the largest quantum communications network made within EuroQCI.
